Dorien Wells is a singer, songwriter and guitarist born in Nova Scotia and now based between Toronto and Los Angeles. His music sits at the intersection of jazz, R&B and soul.
His foundation was built through years of studying jazz and guitar, learning the language of music through performance, discipline and deep listening. But as he grew as an artist, he found himself drawn toward something more personal — the warmth of soul, the honesty of R&B and the freedom to make music that felt less like a performance and more like a conversation.
His music explores intimacy, identity, love, uncertainty and the complicated spaces in between. Rooted in musicianship but driven by feeling, Dorien creates songs that leave room for the imperfections, contradictions and moments that make people human.
With his guitar never far away, Dorien brings together the musicality of jazz with the soul of contemporary R&B — personal, restrained and deeply rooted in the craft.
